• Own all environment planning, release cycles and governance
• Drive cutover readiness across HR, payroll, data and integrations
• Partner with vendors, workstreams and technical teams to ensure success

We are seeking an experienced Environment and Release Manager to support a large-scale HRIS and Payroll transformation programme. This role is responsible for ensuring all environments, configurations, releases, integrations and downstream systems are prepared, aligned, and fully ready across every phase of delivery.
You will manage environment schedules, system configurations, software versioning, release governance, change control and access requirements across multiple complex platforms such as Workday, Dayforce, Azure Integration Services and various downstream systems. You will work closely with programme workstreams, technical teams and external delivery partners to coordinate release activities, resolve issues, avoid environment clashes and ensure systems are monitored, reliable and performing to expectation.
A key part of this role includes leading all Go-Live planning and execution, including data, security, user access, infrastructure and application readiness. You will enable testing phases by ensuring the right data, environments and configurations are available when needed, and that all changes follow agreed governance and approval processes.
Success in this position requires strong leadership, clear communication, the ability to simplify complexity, and confidence working across both technical and business environments. You will be responsible for identifying risks, maintaining documentation to audit standards, running release readiness reviews, and driving continuous improvement of release and environment processes. Experience with automation, DevOps practices and tools such as Azure DevOps is essential.
If you bring depth in environment management, release governance, complex system integrations and large programme delivery, this is a pivotal opportunity to play a lead role in a critical transformation initiative.
Must be based in Wellington.
